The plot and the theme of the movie, Barbara Broccoli has said the movie "will continue the path of Bond trying to find out who was behind the Le Chiffre operation. That's as much as we're going to say." The hint has been dropped that the story will continue on from where Casino Royale ended, with Bond seeking revenge, and still apt to making a mistake or two.
The movie is a direct continuation of Casino Royale, with the film's timeline opening just 1 hour after the end of the drama depicted in Casino Royale.
The title Quantum of Solace means a measure of comfort, as defined by Ian Fleming, the original writer of the series.
Mathieu Amalric plays the newest Bond villain in the role of Dominic Greene.
